Ilon’s playroom and children’s park in Haapsalu

The children’s department of the Central Library of Lääne County is the home for Ilon’s rooms – a reading room and a candle hall where children’s events related to literature and music are organised. The playing room upstairs displays a selection of children’s books, video films, and recordings of fairytales. In the courtyard of the library, you will find Ilon’s Yard – a children’s playground. The attractions in the park are durable and safe, and satisfy the needs of smaller children – there are spring swings, a sand box, a bench, Ronja’s castle with a slide and a stage, a labyrinth, swings, and a climbing ladder. Good to know: Ilon’s Yard was named after Ilon Wikland, who illustrated the books of a world-famous children’s writer Astrid Lindgren.
