Places to eat in Haapsalu and Läänemaa

In the romantic small town of Haapsalu and small villages, hospitable people await you, surprising you with their sincerity and interest in history and culture. The guests who stayed here are remembered again and again with great respect.

Noarootsi Tavern

Completely renovated in 2020, Noarootsi Tavern is located on the peninsula and combines nature and a friendly atmosphere. Food is provided by the sea, the forest, and the earth. A little spice and the right dose of good humour have been added to the dishes.
The tavern is also a suitable place for celebrating special events and organising meetings with friends. We also offer an event management service.
The tavern is located in Pürksi, which is 110 km from Tallinn and 33 km from Haapsalu, but the wonderful taste experience is worth the trip.

Cocktail training at Tänava Farm ‘The mysterious world of the flowers of Lääne County’s meadows’

During the training, we mix and taste various exciting drinks made from the plants of Lääne County. We will also take a closer look at some of the mysterious local plants and find out why and how to use them. You will also hear many interesting legends and stories related to them.

The training is perfect for ending or – why not – starting a joint gathering of both larger and smaller groups. In addition, it is a perfect way to make birthdays and other festive events more exciting. We can also come to the location of your choice.

Bread and white bread workshop in Nõva Break tourist information café

Nõva Break offers rye bread and sourdough bread workshops upon reservation.
We have studied the exciting craft of bread baking for twelve years. By now, we have baked tens of thousands of loaves and we still do it with great pleasure!
The Nõva Break building can accommodate 5–6 people, but we can come to you with our materials and supplies. You only need a large table and an oven.
The workshop includes a bit of theory and baking with the help of a tutor. We will provide the instructions and the fermentation starter. While the bread is rising, which takes about 1–3 hours, you can hike in Nõva in the woods and by the sea.

Nõva Bakery and Tourist Information Centre

When you are driving to Nõva from Tallinn, you will see three red buildings on your right. The smallest one in the middle is home to a tourist information centre and cafe in the summer. It sells local bread, other baked goods, cold and hot drinks, and ice cream.
You can also rest here and gather information about the area’s attractions.
Nõva is a unique place with unspoiled nature, beautiful forests, lakes, and a 15 km long sandy beach. We have nice accommodation facilities, but it is also possible to enjoy camping at the camping grounds set up by the State Forest Management Centre.

Restaurant Vaga Mama

Vaga Mama is an Asian eatery in Haapsalu serving Chinese, Thai, and Nepalese dishes. Our tasty and spicy dishes are made by Nepalese chefs. You can buy food to go or order by phone.

The menu includes traditional Asian soups, noodles, various sauces, and seafood. Make sure to try the frog legs – not every restaurant offers them!

Vegetarian Café Beguta

Already at noon, we welcome you to enjoy a plant-based buffet, parts of which are also suitable for vegans. Our à la carte menu should even satisfy a more demanding customer, and we have both baked cakes and raw cakes for those with a sweet tooth, all wheat flour free, some also vegan.

We have a pretty nice drinks menu – both wine and beer lovers can find something, we offer milkshakes and sugar-free smoothies. Come enjoy it all on our lovely sunny terrace – you’re welcome to enjoy your time!
The Vegetarian Café also has guest apartments, therefore, we offer a partly plant-based breakfast from 09:00-11:00.
